Mail your device in from anywhere in Australia
No Brisbane trip required, and no mail-in surcharge. Post your device to our Australia Post Parcel Collect address — we send it and the packing instructions the moment you pay — and receive a written custody record with photographs before it goes into storage.
Before it leaves your hands: power the device off and don’t charge, reset, or update it. Ship it exactly as it is — the state it’s in can decide which recovery routes stay open.
How mail-in works, step by step
- Book online — choose “mail my device in” at checkout. It’s the same $150 as Brisbane drop-off; there is no postage surcharge.
- Get the address — after payment we email you our Australia Post Parcel Collect address, your reference ID, and full packing instructions.
- Post it — buy a tracked Australia Post satchel at any Post Office, from any state or territory. A small satchel is usually $10–15. Reply with the tracking number and we’ll watch for it.
- Get your custody record — on arrival we photograph the device, log its condition, and email you the record against your reference ID before storage begins.
Posting to a Parcel Collect address: send it with Australia Post on a tracked service, and send it as a parcel. A Parcel Collect point is an Australia Post counter: it only accepts items lodged with Australia Post, so no courier can deliver to it, and it refuses letter-class mail including Express Post letters.
Who carries the risk in transit
Because you buy the postage, the parcel is yours until it reaches us and custody begins. Add Extra Cover at the Post Office if you want the device covered on the way — it’s a few dollars and worth it for anything valuable. Cover of any kind protects the physical device’s replacement value only; it does not cover the data on the device (recovering that is the service you’re booking), and it is separate from the storage cover that applies once the device is in our custody.
Packing a dead or damaged device safely
- Power it off — do not charge, reset, or update it.
- Use a static or anti-moisture bag if you have one (a zip-lock bag with the air pressed out is fine for water-damaged devices).
- Pad it well on all sides and seal the package.
- Write your reference ID on a slip inside.
